The first free practice session for the Mexican Grand Prix on the Hermanos Rodriguez track was neutralized under a red flag, after part of the front wing of the Sauber of Brazilian Felipe Nasr broke.

The pilot ofHinwil, which is also testing the Halo device on its car, saw his fin fall into pieces after passing over a curb. The marshals are currently working to clean the track.
