The pilot Mercedes GP told Sport Bild that he would not give up the title race. The German, who is currently in 7th position behind the driver Renault Robert Kubica, hopes for a misstep from the leading men and other developments on his car to come back to the top of the rankings.
« I refuse to give up the Championship. I continue to believe in my chances. If the leader Lewis Hamilton fall just once and I win, I'll be practically on par with him (he would however still be 27 points behind: editor's note). We still have plenty of opportunities to improve the car. For example, several top teams have added things that we can easily develop on our cars. This is what we do ».
