Red Bull et Williams had to change the chassis of the single-seaters Pierre Gasly and Robert Kubica at the end of the first day of testing for the German GP at Hockenheim.
If the change was expected for the Frenchman following his crash in FP2, the Grove team decided to install a new chassis on the FW42 after finding broken elements that could not be repaired on the circuit. The British structure had to break the curfew. The two drivers will not be penalized by this replacement.
