OMP equipment, which notably equips Lotus drivers Renault GP, has developed a new range of ultra-light products (fireproof overalls, gloves, shoes, harnesses, etc.) this year.

OMP claims a weight gain of 20% compared to the same equipment last year. This search for minimum weight was not done to the detriment of comfort, the shoes incorporating, for example, carbon inserts allowing better pedal sensitivity, while a marriage of leather and Nomex guarantees a high level of flexibility and breathing of the feet.

According to Eric Boullier, Team Principal of the English team, “ the search for performance never stops F1. Each element of the car is constantly reviewed and we are constantly seeking to reduce weight to improve efficiency."
