Let it be said, Formula 1 is done in England and, except Ferrari, the stables have their forces and their base camp there. Thus, it is sometimes preferable for drivers to be close to their team's factory; this is the case of Vitaly Petrov, who left Valencia to go into exile in Great Britain. The Russian, undoubtedly pushed by Lotus Renault GP to get closer toenstone, explains his choice:

“First of all, I am now closer to the factory. If I want to go, I can be there whenever I want. Then I can fly from a major airport to any destination, whereas in Valencia I often had to go via Madrid or Paris, which was always complicated. I had no interest in staying in Spain anyway, which is why I decided to move to Oxford. On the other hand, I didn't want to live in London, it?s too big for me, there's too much traffic. »
