According to Autosprint, the Italian manufacturer Pirelli would have been chosen by the FIA to equip the single-seaters until 2013, at the expense of Michelin also in the running. The tires offered by the company would be of three types (soft, medium and hard) and would have the same size as those of the Bridgestones used this year (13 inches). Pirelli currently equips the championships WRC and GP3 and could also equip the GP2 next season.
