A small mistake with big consequences. A logical contender for the first places on the starting grid for this Monaco Grand Prix, Sergio Pérez lost everything in Q1 this Saturday. So in a flying lap, the Mexican missed Sainte-Dévote and was unable to avoid contact with the wall, considerably damaging his car.
The outcome was then inevitable for the runner-up of Max Verstappen in the championship forced to throw in the towel given the state of his RB19. Automatically eliminated and promised to start from the back of the grid, Sergio Pérez needed to install new parts on his car.
