There will be no Q3 for Fernando Alonso (Alpine). The Spaniard could not do better than 13th place in this Q2, 8 tenths behind his teammate Esteban Ocon, 4th in the 2nd part of these qualifications.
Same fate for Yuki tsunoda (Alpha Tauri) who barely finished 14th, just ahead of Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo).
At the forefront, it is Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) who finished first ahead of his teammate Valtteri Bottas et Lando Norris (McLaren). Unlike his team partner Alonso, Esteban Ocon achieved a perfect Q2 with the 4th time 6 tenths behind Hamilton.
Note that Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin) will be present in Q3 for the first time in 15 Grand Prix.
