The pilot Renault went for a time allowing him to access the last phase of the qualifying session. The five eliminated in Q2 are Nick Heidfeld, Kazuki Nakajima, Timo Glock, Heikki Kovalainen and Adrian Sutil. It's Sebastien Hag, on his Red Bull, who again achieved the best time (1:27:016).
