Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) confirms his good intentions by setting the best time during the second phase of the qualifying session for the Chinese Grand Prix (1:34:928). The drivers of the McLaren teams, Red Bull, Ferrari et Mercedes are qualified in Q1, just like Robert Kubica (Renault) and Adrian Sutil (Force India).
Vitaly Petrov (Renault) but also Jaime Alguersuari and Sébastien Buemi (Toro Rosso), Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hulkenberg (Williams), Pedro de la Rosa and Kamui Kobayashi (Sauber) are eliminated.
