The pilot Red Bull Sergio Pérez was fooled during Q2. The Mexican, who saw his first lap deleted for exceeding the track limits, was unable to improve enough on medium tires and finished 11th. He is ahead of Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo), Yuki tsunoda (Alpha Tauri) who missed his second flying lap in mediums, and Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo). Logically, George Russell (Williams) took the 15th and last place of the session.
Good pick for Pierre Gasly, who managed to get through to Q3 wearing medium tires with his AlphaTauri. Both Ferrari de Carlos Sainz et Charles Leclerc achieved the best times on soft tires.
