We know Red Bull Racing at the forefront on the issue, after having long been at the heart of negotiations for the engine supply of its single-seaters with Renault at a time when the performance of the French Power Unit was well behind its rivals Mercedes ou Ferrari.

Helmut Marko, motorsport consultant for Red Bull, did not fail to launch a new reminder of the will of the Milton Keynes structure regarding the future of the motorization of the discipline.

“At the latest, it must be 2021 that an independent engine supplier arrives, declares Marko on the website of the F1. This is more than necessary and the engine must be simple, noisy and cost less than ten million.

We're talking about a much less sophisticated engine for what we currently have, and a simple racing engine. There are enough companies that can do this. We therefore hope that the new owners with the FIA will find a solution by the end of this season at the latest. If this does not happen, our presence in F1 is not secure. »
