The college of sports commissioners specially assembled to study the multiple complaints brought by Renault against the brake ducts of the Racing Point RP20 summoned representatives of both parties this Wednesday.

Remember that Renault accuses Racing Point of using copies of the brake ducts of the Mercedes W10 lined up last year. These items have changed categories this year and are now considered listed parts. That is to say, each team must produce its own to claim manufacturer status. F1

Renault suspects a transfer of intellectual property between Mercedes and Racing Point, while the Silverstone team claims to be within its rights, even if it admits to having purchased Mercedes brake ducts last year, which was perfectly legal.

The verdict of the commissioners on this question, as technical as it is philosophical, is eagerly awaited because it could have important consequences on the negotiations of the Concorde Agreements which must govern F1 beyond the 2020 campaign.
