Although Nico Rosberg did not manage to qualify following a gearbox problem, the German still thinks he can move up the grid to grab a top ten starting from the penultimate place on the Suzuka starting grid.
“We apparently had a hydraulic problem”, explains the pilot Mercedes GP. “The team told me to come into the pits, I couldn't change gear anymore. They couldn't repair it, it's always complicated with the hydraulics. It will be a long race tomorrow but I am certainly not going to give up and the points remain within my reach. It won't be easy but we'll see. »
