At the end of the contract with Red Bull Racing this season, Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most scrutinized drivers for the next “transfer window” in F1. If no information filters through on the potential negotiations in progress, the summer period seems to be considered a deadline.
“There should be a decision for the summer holidays at the latest, admits Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull Racing to Car engine and sport. We don't want to wait forever. We have other good options.
Our priority is to continue working with Daniel. If that doesn't work, we'll pull the other options. The most obvious is Carlos Sainz. He is under contract with us. And then there are a few other young drivers. »
Ricciardo recently admitted he wanted to sign a maximum two-year contract, in order to give yourself complete freedom when F1 brings new technical regulations in 2021.
