Haas F1 Team has confirmed the young 18-year-old American Santino Ferrucci in his role as development driver within the Kannapolis (North Carolina) structure for the 2017 season.
Recruited last year by the team led by Günther Steiner, Ferrucci had played in the car VF16 during the test days organized at Silverstone in England on July 12 and 13.
In addition to being present at the races and tests, Ferrucci will benefit from a program in the in-house simulator, in parallel with his program in the GP3 Series with the French team DAMS, for his second year in the category. The Connecticut native won a podium in Spain in a sprint race last year.
