After the retirement of Sergio Pérez yesterday in the sprint race at Silverstone, Red Bull Racing and Honda decided to make significant changes to the Mexican's RB16B, which in any case had to start from the back of the grid.
In addition to replacing the batteries and electronic control unit, Red Bull will install a different rear wing on the car under Parc Fermé regime. “The component was replaced with the approval of the FIA technical delegate following a request from the team, in accordance with article 34.2 of the Sporting Regulations F1 2021, specifies the FIA.
As the rear wing assembly is different to that originally used and changes have also been made to the suspension tuning and front brake cooling (with approval from the FIA Technical Delegate following a written request), car no. 11 will now be forced to start from the pit lane. »
