Nick Heidfeld (BMW) remained on 41 consecutive Grands Prix where he had reached the finish line. This time, it didn?t happen. The BMW driver collided with Adrian Sutil (Force India), who had just clashed with Jaime Alguersuari (Toro Rosso). Sutil and Heidfeld had to abandon following this shock. Nick Heidfeld had not retired from a race since the United States Grand Prix in 2007.
