Damon Hill, world champion Formula 1 in 1996 and president of British Racing Drivers? Club (BRDC), is confident of a positive outcome regarding the organization of the British F1 Grand Prix. After the failure of Donington Park, which was unable to raise the sufficient sum to honor the contract signed with FOM (Formula One Management), Silverstone is the circuit which should host the British Grand Prix. It now remains for BRDC, owner of the circuit, and Bernie Ecclestone, representative of the FOM, to find a financial agreement.

« We and Bernie must be flexible in order to find a solution, confides Damon Hill. Things are moving forward step by step. But we have no safety net. » Indeed, the contract provides for an increase in the field fee of 7% per year, while Silverstone barely managed to balance its budget in 2009. Such an increase would double the amount of the sum required by the FOM within ten years.
