Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) changed tires as the halfway mark approached, starting again behind Mark Webber (Red Bull), who should be able to aim for the podium. Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) and Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) then changed tires in turn, starting again in the same position.
