Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) suffers with his super soft tires and is attacked by Mark Webber (Red Bull), benefited by its better preserved soft tires. Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) took the opportunity to escape with more than 3 seconds in advance. The two drivers enter the pits on the same lap and come out on soft tires before engaging in a nice battle which benefits the Briton for the moment.
Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) returned to the pits, coming out on soft tires just behind Fernanod Alonso (Ferrari), who has still not made his second stop.
Pastor Maldonado (Williams) retired on the 31st lap. The Venezuelan was able to score points before receiving a penalty for hitting a cone when entering the pits.
