According to our Italian colleagues from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the partnership with the tobacco giant, almost fifty years old, – the first relations date back to 1973 – could evolve in a direction which would constrain the Team looking for a new title sponsor for 2022 and beyond. Seeking to focus on the search for future solutions to overcome tobacco dependence, the “Mission Winnow” brand is the subject of debate and is not welcome in a certain number of European Union countries. This observation would push Philip Morris International to review its plans. While it is unlikely that the firm will cease all forms of collaboration with Ferrari, it could do so in a different way from 2022, with the current contract expiring at the end of the season. “The relationship is good and we will see how it goes in the coming months,” comments Mattia Binotto, director of the Scuderia, in the columns of the daily newspaper. It is very likely that they will stay with us, but perhaps not as title sponsor. »
