Tight timing to change Kubica chassis

Accidented in the first moments of qualifying at Suzuka this Sunday morning, Robert Kubica could not start the Japanese Grand Prix in the afternoon.  

As he accelerated out of the last chicane, the Pole veered too wide, put one wheel in the grass, and lost control of his car. Williams FW42 which hit the wall of tires on the outside, leading to a first red flag. 

Holding qualifying on the morning of the race due to Typhoon Hagibis makes the Grove mechanics' task even more complicated since they only have a few hours to replace the Pole's chassis. 

Williams also confirmed that the timing was “ tight » but says she is confident of being able to line up her two cars on the grid this afternoon.
