Toro Rosso identified the part responsible for the spectacular accident of Sébastien Buemi during the first free practice session of the Chinese Grand Prix (see video). It was the hub carrier of the right front wheel that broke, the element that connects the wheel to the suspension. The imbalance caused by this breakage led to the breakage of the left hub carrier and the “flying off” of the wheels, since the cables supposed to hold the wheels are attached to the hub carriers. If Toro Rosso knows the person responsible, however, the cause of this breakage is not known. The Faenza team tested these new hub carriers in Shanghai, parts which had not yet been tested on the track. Obviously, this version of the play is rejected. As a result, Sébastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari will be equipped with the old hub carriers for the rest of the weekend.
