Frustrated after a failed qualifying session in Russia, Pierre Gasly signs a great performance in this Q2 by setting the 4th best time (1'23″817). At the end of this second qualifying session at Istanbul Park, those eliminated are Mick Schumacher (Haas), Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin), George Russell (Williams) and Esteban Ocon (Alpine). Carlos Sainz, who will start from the back of the grid for a 4th engine change, did not set a time in this Q2.
The best time was again achieved by Lewis Hamilton (1.23:882) ahead Valtteri Bottas (+0:497) and Max Verstappen (+0:650).
