A formalized departure from Red Bull
He was one of the right-hand men of Max Verstappen at Red Bull for years. Lee Stevenson leaves Milton Keynes with immediate effect, after 18 years of good and loyal service. The Briton rose through the ranks to occupy the role of chief mechanic for the Dutchman in 2021. Over the last four seasons, Stevenson was in a supporting role, but always in Max Verstappen's garage.
His departure was made official on his Instagram account. The former Red Bull chief mechanic will take up new duties from Monday April 1, in another team on the grid. On his Instagram post, a clue seems to have been given regarding his destination. Indeed, the use of green and black emojis did not go unnoticed…
