A new trophy will debut in F1, this weekend alongside the Chinese Grand Prix. Just like the "trophy" – an engraved mini-tyre – awarded to the driver who took pole position in the Grand Prix, Pirelli will offer a special reward to the driver who took pole position in the Sprint race, on Friday afternoon after the Sprint Qualifying.
The trophy features a raised version of the special logo that marks Pirelli's season-long celebration of its 500th Formula 1 Grand Prix, which will take place later this year at the Dutch Grand Prix (August 29-31). The logo was unveiled on February 18 at the F1 75 Live event at London's O2 Arena. Following this season's six Sprint Qualifying sessions, the trophy will be personalized with a silver plaque bearing the pole-sitter's initials, as used to identify drivers on timing screens.

As was the case last weekend in Melbourne, the three drivers who will stand on the podium at the Chinese Grand Prix will also wear a special cap, designed by designer Denis Dekovic, drawing inspiration from the traditions and culture of the host country. Unlike in Melbourne, where the caps were green, the caps on the Shanghai podium will be predominantly red.
