This one, no one saw it coming. This Monday, March 31, Williams has officially announced the arrival of Victor Martins as a member of its academy, almost to everyone's surprise. This news allows it to continue dreaming of F1 while he left theAlpine Academy a few weeks ago.
« This is a new chapter for me, but my goal remains the same: to push my limits, both as a person and as a driver, and reach Formula 1., confides the Parisian.
Williams is an iconic team with an incredible history, and I am confident it is the best place to help me achieve my goals. This year, I will focus on winning the Drivers' Championship. Formula 2 with ART Grand Prix and on maximizing this opportunity with the Driver Academy, both on and off the track. I look forward to working with everyone at Williams as we begin this new adventure together. »
Victor Martins will not waste any time since Williams has already scheduled a first run for him with a TPC next weekend at Monza alongside fellow academy member Luke Browning, who will drive the FW47 used in the 2023 season.
It should be noted that he is the second Frenchman to join the Williams Driver Academy after Alessandro Giusti. The latter has been a member since last year and is competing in his first season of F3, at MP Motorsport.
