Impressive image in Singapore. During Free Practice 2, theAlpha Tauri de Pierre Gasly started to catch fire in the pit lane. The Frenchman had just stopped in his box when flames began to come out of his upper air intake, near the engine hood. According to the images, it could be a leak from the tank filling valve which was the cause of the fire.

The fire, which lasted a few seconds, was quickly extinguished thanks to the express intervention of a mechanic Aston Martin, who was standing nearby with a fire extinguisher. There car of the Frenchman was undamaged, with only some visible damage to the AlphaTauri's paintwork. After a quick inspection of the AT03, Pierre Gasly was able to get back on the track. The Normand set the 14th fastest time in Free Practice 2, 1″8 behind the best time.
