Another mistake for Lando Norris in qualifying, and this one could cost him dearly. The Briton made a mistake in the first corners of his first flying lap during Q3 of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah. Running wide at the exit of turn 4, the championship leader lost control of his McLaren MCL39 and ended up in the wall on the outside of Turn 5, blowing out his left front suspension and the entire left side of his car.
The Englishman emerged from his car unharmed, but was obviously disappointed by his retirement at the start of Q3. "I'm a fucking idiot.", he said on his radio. Lando Norris is therefore expected to start from 10th place on the grid for the Saudi Arabian GP… unless parts of his engine or gearbox are affected. If parts have to be changed, he could start from the back of the grid or from the pit lane.
