While setting the best time in EL1 mid-session, Nico Hülkenberg was surprised and lost the rear of his Haas, ending up in the wall.

VIDEO – Nico Hülkenberg’s crash in EL1 in Miami

Nico Hulkenberg experienced the emotional roller coaster in just a few moments during Free Practice 1 on Friday evening. The German driver, first to put on the red tires in EL1, set the best time ahead of a Max Verstappen certainly still shod with white rubber. A nice wink for Haas, at home here in the United States, who was at the forefront.

Only then, a few moments later, as the German set off for a second push lap, he lost the rear of his car after being slightly off course. As a reminder, the track was resurfaced and quickly appeared very greasy and slippery. The red flag was waved and “Hulk” obviously had to end his session.
