VIDEO. The stratospheric departure of Lance Stroll

This is rare enough to be noted, but Lance stroll (Aston Martin) was sparkling during the first hectometers of the 2022 Japanese Grand Prix. The Canadian jumped from his 19th place to overtake with great ease a cluster of competitors before the first corner:

How was such ease possible? Suzuka ? " Before leaving, I noticed a drier strip of asphalt and decided to take it at the start. It worked really well – it was a really fun first round, dissected Lance Stroll, finally 12th under the checkered flag.

There wasn't much grip on these first laps and very little visibility; it was a difficult decision for Race Direction, but it was clear that the race had to be stopped when Carlos [Sainz] had his accident. I don't think the visibility was much better when we restarted, but it did improve towards the end.

Overall it was an eventful race, the fans were amazing with the weather, and now we look towards Austin and Mexico. »
