It is in an “old school” style that Sebastian Vettel set off to attack the Paul Ricard circuit this Thursday. But it's not with her car usual that the German took to the track. To celebrate the centenary ofAston Martin en Formula 1, it was with the “Green Pea” that the quadruple world champion rode at Le Castellet. At the wheel of the first car entered in the premier discipline by the British brand in 1922, Sebastian Vettel was able to cover the 5,842 km of the French track.
One for the history books. 💚

« I'm passionate about the history of the sport, so it will be very special to drive one of the original 1922 Aston Martin Grand Prix cars this weekend », underlined the four-time world champion. It's not just the German who played the game at the Paul Ricard circuit. Some engineers tried their hand at the pit stop with the “Green Pea”. It is clear that they needed a slight time to adapt to bridge the generational gap between the mechanisms of 1922 and the technologies used in Formula 1 a hundred years later.
