At 85, Sir Jackie Stewart still has a knack for driving! This Sunday, ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix, the three-time world champion got back behind the wheel of one of his old single-seaters, the Tyrrell 006 with which he won his third and final title in 1973.
The Scot, still an active player in Formula 1 and regularly in the paddock, was able to do a demonstration lap on the Sakhir circuit, guided by a car in front of him. A moving moment to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Formula 1, but also the 60th anniversary of the Briton's F1 debut.
Over 50 years since he last raced an F1 car in 1973, F1 legend Sir Jackie Stewart is back behind the wheel!

It was also a way to mark the 10th anniversary and raise funds for his charity "Race Against Dementia", which fights against dementia and neurodegenerative diseases suffered by Jackie Stewart's wife, Helen Stewart. During his lap on the Sakhir circuit, Jackie Stewart wore a helmet signed by the 20 living F1 world champions, including the initials "MS" written in the hand of Michael Schumacher, helped by his wife Corinna.
