The future Las Vegas Grand Prix is revealed a little more every day. The future American event, which will host the Formula 1 from November 16 to 18, 2023, continues preparations and work on site. The organizers have posted a video online to illustrate the first contours of the urban circuit, in the middle of “Sin City”. Via the Assetto Corsa video game, we can discover the route designed by the company Tilke in the streets of Las Vegas…

The circuit is made up of 17 turns, and no longer 14 as was originally planned. According to the promoters, the length of the track is approximately 6,12 kilometers (3,8 miles), which means that the Grand Prix distance will be 50 laps. There will be two DRS zones and the F1 cars will be able to reach maximum speeds around 345 km/h according to estimates.

At the beginning of September, the route had evolved slightly compared to the first version, presented when the return of F1 to Las Vegas was announced. Originally, turn 7 was a long 180° left, similar to turn 3 of the Sochi circuit, and which led to other fast curves until heavy braking at turn 9. The new layout now includes a chicane (7 -8) in the middle of the original 180° turn. It will lead to a slow bend (9) before returning to the section with fast curves. The objective is to reduce speed when approaching the fast section and in particular now turn 12, which will launch the F1 cars towards the long straight of the “Strip”.
