Pascal Wehrlein had to give up his starting place at Sauber F1 Team at Charles Leclerc, the German returning with Mercedes en DTM as the star manufacturer will leave the German Touring Car Championship at the end of the year to focus on Formula e. The 2015 DTM champion expressed his frustration in the Sudkurier newspaper.

“There are now two of my teammates (Esteban Ocon and Marcus Ericsson) on the grid that I beat and are still up, which is a weird feeling. Obviously, I would have liked to stay in F1. I think I have proven that I deserve a place over the last two years. I will now concentrate on my task in DTM,” said the former Sauber driver who remains a test driver at Mercedes F1.
