Team Williams was the first to react to the announcement of the World Council on possibility of competing in F1 with a budget limited to 45 million euros.
“Since the idea was floated in early 2008, Williams has always supported the introduction of a budget limit,” said Frank Williams. “Since then, FOTA has made great strides in reducing costs, but this idea has become stronger and stronger. We would like all teams to evolve based on the same regulations in 2010. We will therefore defend the idea that all teams align themselves with the cap budget. We are aware that this will represent a huge challenge for some teams, but we want FOTA to work constructively so that we can respond favorably to the FIA initiative. »
