Williams has confirmed the departure of its chief designer Ed Wood for personal reasons after 12 seasons spent with the British team. Wood joined Williams in 2006 after also playing for Ferrari et Renault.
« As head designer, Ed contributed greatly to Williams' many successes during his tenure., Grove’s team said in a statement. He was one of the driving forces behind the FW36 and FW37 which allowed us to finish 3rd in the Manufacturers' Championship in 2014 and 2015. The team would like to express its gratitude to Ed for his efforts over the last 12 years; his experience, talent and passion have been tremendous assets to Williams ».
