Raffaele Marciello is definitely the man for the job when he boards the Mercedes-AMG. The qualifying for the 9 Hours of Kyalami is proof of this. The Italian, who has been racing under a Swiss license since last season, was uncompromising on the South African track this Friday.

In the No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT999 of Team GruppeM Racing, Raffaele Marciello dominated Q3 head and shoulders thanks to a time of 1’42. A mark which allowed him to beat Charles Weerts (Team WRT – BMW M617 GT4 No. 3) by more than 32 tenths. Winner of the first round of the season at Bathurst, Jules Gounon (SunEnergy 3 – Mercedes-AMG GT1 No. 3) did not get involved in the fight for first place. The Frenchman who now races under Andorran license finished 75e almost 9 tenths from Lello.
