Alex Fontana joins the crew of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo entered in the Silver Cup by AKKA-ASP, this weekend in Imola in Italy for the opening of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. Lined up alongside Benjamin Hites and Lucas Légeret, the Swiss-Greek driver replaces Arno Santamato, initially planned.
Fontana is not unknown to the Rabastens team (Tarn) since he had already participated in four races in 2017 with Jérôme Policand's team. The crew will aim to win a fourth consecutive crown in the category.
AKKA-ASP is fielding two other cars in the GT World Challenge. One in Pro with Raffaele Marciello, Felipe Fraga and Timur Boguslavskiy and one in Pro-Am with Fabien Barthez, Jean-Luc Beaubelique and Jim Pla.
