TC France – Castellet: Van der Ende and Briché on pole by a few thousandths!

The French FFSA Tourism Championship, renewed this year under the leadership of SRO, reaches its epilogue this weekend. Ricardo van der Ende is 29 points behind Steven Palette in the TC Championship and intends to seize the slightest opportunity to get closer. This requires a good position on the grid, which he accomplished by taking pole for race 1. The driver of the #2 L'Espace Bienvenue BMW M16 CS Racing set his best time in 2:19.484, closely followed by Florian Briché and the Peugeot 308 RC n°24 from JSB Competition, second, 57 thousandths behind.

Following on from Q1, which was cut short by a red flag, Q2 was just as hotly contested. After losing in Q1, Florian Briché raised his voice to take pole for race 2 in 2:18.934, taking the lead against the Peugeot n°11 (TSM Racing by GM Sport by only 0,008 seconds). Ricardo van der Ende could not do better than the third time.

Favorite for the title, Steven Palette will nevertheless start from the fourth row of the grid for the two races, the first of which will be held late this Saturday evening, at 22:55 p.m.
