Team Penske has decided to enter into a long-term collaboration with Austin Cindric. The 22-year-old pilot, currently in Nascar Xfinity series, sees its contract extended by at least two years. Engaged in the series play-offs this season, he should continue full-time at this level next year with stints in the Cup series.

If all goes well, it will then be officially promoted to the Cup series during the 2022 season under the aegis of Wood Brothers Racing, Penske's technical partner.

Cindric will sit in the seat of the No. 21 Ford Mustang. “It’s important that Austin calmly continues his development in the Xfinity series with us” commented Roger Penske, the boss of the team. “Austin has made great strides in recent years and has become a consistent winner as well as a real title contender. His 2021 season will prepare him for the next generation of cars in 2022.”

Austin Cindric is currently in second place in the playoffs after winning the regular season. “ This is an important step in my career and I am honored by the trust that Team Penske has placed in me.” the pilot reacted.
