Thed Björk took pole for WTCR Race 1 at the Nordschleife Nürburgring. The reigning WTCC champion completed a lap of the Green Hell in 8'58''700, ahead of his teammate and team boss Yvan Muller by just 79 thousandths.
Norbert Michelisz completed the top three monopolized by the Hyundai. The BRC Racing Team resident preceded Esteban Guerrieri, the Argentinian having been the last driver less than a second from the benchmark.
Belgian Benjamin Lessennes (Honda) qualified tenth ahead of Frenchmen Yann Ehrlacher (Honda) and Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi), the reigning TCR International Series champion. Aurélien Panis (Audi) qualified in 17th place ahead of his compatriot Aurélien Comte (Peugeot ). Nathanaël Berthon (Audi) is 20th.
WTCR Race 1 at the Nordschleife Nürburgring will be contested this evening from 19:45 p.m.
