If there is one weekend (excluding the Bathurst 1000) when it is good to stand out in Supercars, it is during the race weekend of F1. The many fans can discover the super touring car championship or be ecstatic to see their favorite discipline highlighted during this prestigious weekend. After the domination of Cam Waters (Ford Mustang-Tickford racing) at the season opener in Sydney, it is another Cameron who takes center stage.
Cameron Hill (Chevrolet Camaro - Matt Stone Racing) claimed his first career Supercar victory. This success confirms the good form displayed by his team yesterday morning. Hill secured his first podium of the year in the fourth race of the season (P3 behind Feeney and Brown). The C5 of the season was a little more chaotic and was interrupted twice by the safety car. The Camaro driver sealed his result from the start by winning against polesitter Broc Feeney. The Triple Eight driver crossed the finish line in fourth position behind the defending champion Will Brown who took his second podium of the weekend.
Cam Waters, sixth in the round, retains the lead in the overall standings. The next Supercars round is scheduled for April 12 and 13 at the Taupo circuit in New Zealand.
