Austin Cindric intentionally hit Ty Dillon (Kaulig Racing), sending him into a spin on the pit straight at Circuit of the Americas. The behavior earned the Penske driver a $50 fine, along with 000 championship penalty points, which dropped him from eleventh to 50th place. The American driver can, however, consider himself lucky to have only received these two penalties, given that the NASCAR has made a habit of suspending races for drivers who intentionally send their opponents into the scenery. The governing body justified itself by indicating that this weekend's incident occurred on a road course. The lower speeds and the fact that the collision did not cause a neutralization were part of NASCAR's incident management process.

For his part, Chase Briscoe has reason to smile, since the heavy penalty he was given following the Daytona 500 has been cancelled. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver had notably lost 100 points in the championship, leaving Daytona in the negative, despite a fourth place in the race. A modification of the spoiler at the rear of the Toyota Camry No. 19 had resulted in the various penalties, including suspensions of some team members. The team had appealed, and the panel that met this Wednesday ruled in favor of "Coach Gibbs'" team.

"The panel finds that the elongation of some of the holes on the spoiler base of car #19 is due to the process of attaching that specific spoiler base to the rear parcel shelf and not to modification of the single original part.", a NASCAR press release said.
