Daniel Hemric takes his first pole in Kansas

Daniel Hemric (Richard Childress Racing – Chevrolet Camaro) took his first career pole position in Nascar Cup Series following qualifying for the Kansas event.

The native of Kannapolis (North Carolina) beat David Ragan (Front Row Motorsports – Ford Mustang) in 30″329, beaten by 35 thousandths. Followed by the two Fords – Team Penske of Ryan Blaney and Brad Keselowski and the Chevrolet of Kyle Larson (Chip Ganassi Racing).

Martin Truex Jr (Joe Gibbs Racing) place la meilleure Toyota Camry en 11e position. A noter que Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing – Ford) was unable to participate in the qualifying session, after problems during the technical inspection.

The car was initially accepted, before a driveshaft problem forced the team to work on the No. 4 to re-pass the inspection. A second attempt where the car this time failed.
