Ferrari divides its forces for the 9 Hours of Kyalami

While Audi decided to separate Christopher Haase from Patric Niedrhauser and Markus Winkelhock to increase its chances of overtaking Ferrari in the Drivers' classification of the Interncontinal GT Challenge, the latter covered the strategy of the German manufacturer by dividing its forces to the 9 Hours of Kyalami, final round of the season taking place this weekend (February 3-5). The Italian brand has therefore decided to separate its leading trio of the championship, namely Côme Ledogar, Nicklas Nielsen and Alessandro Pier Guidi. The Dane thus joins Antonio Fuoco and Alessio Rovera in the No. 488 3 GT71 while Miguel Molina goes the opposite way to the No. 51. In this ranking, two points separate these six drivers. Another driver can mathematically be champion with Timur Boguslavskiy (Mercedes-AMG).

Other changes are taking place in the entry list. With Anders Fjordbach withdrawing for personal reasons, Thierry Vermeulen replaces him at High Class Racing. “This will be my first race in GT3, so let’s see what we can do in this very competitive group of drivers. I look forward to working with this incredible team and learning for my future in GT3 racing”, said the Dutch pilot. Note that the local team Scuderia Scribante will not be able to field its second Lamborghini Huracán due to a shipping delay.
