The Hendrick Motorsports team has announced its decision to part ways with Kasey kahne for the 2018 season in the No. 5 Chevrolet. Kahne won this year's Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis and has 18 wins in 14 seasons in NASCAR.

His best season came in 2012, his first with Hendrick Motorsports, which he finished in 4e place with 2 victories and 19 top 10s. Like Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch, Kahne is added to the list of veterans currently without a steering wheel for the 2018 season. Rick Hendrick's structure has not yet announced a replacement.
