You had to drive a Ford Fusion to hope to shine in qualifying in Kansas. The cars on the blue oval largely dominated the session last night, with the best time going to the No. 22 of Joey Logano (Team Penske).
The latter completed his best lap in 28″177, beating Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing – Ford). Followed by Aric Almirola (Stewart-Haas Racing), winner last week at Talladega, Ryan Blaney and Brad Keselowski (Team Penske).
Derrière ce top 5 100% Ford, on retrouve les quatre Toyota Camry – Joe Gibbs Racing, emmenées par Erik Jones et Kyle Busch devant Daniel Suarez et Denny Hamlin. La meilleure Chevrolet Camaro d’Alex Bowman (Hendrick Motorsports) se hisse dans le top 10.
