At 44, Legge will discover a new discipline, she who we have seen in recent years in IndyCar, a IMSA, or in the lower echelons of the NASCAR. She will drive the #78 Chevrolet for Live Fast Motorsports on the small oval in Arizona. NASCAR validated her participation thanks to her pedigree, she who has participated several times in the Indianapolis 500 Miles and several ARCA races. Her qualifications on oval are therefore not in doubt within the governing body. Legge will have a lot to do, she who will only have one practice session, one qualifying session and finally the race on Sunday. Since Live Fast Motorsports does not have a franchise, the Briton will have to qualify on time. However, we do not expect to exceed 40 entries for this fourth round of the season, and qualifying should be a formality for Katherine Legge.

“I am very excited about this announcement”she explained. “I drove to North Carolina last night and got my bucket seat molded. I can use my ARCA seat from Daytona, which helped speed up the process. The steering wheel and pedals are all good, just a few things to work out, like getting my helmet lower. I also need to get my earbuds and HANS certified. Then I’m off to Richard Childress Racing to drive the simulator, and I’m really looking forward to experiencing what it’s like to drive one of those cars!”

Katherine Legge will become the first female driver to drive in NASCAR's premier class since Danica Patrick in 2018.
